  Shafqat Islam is the Co-Founder and CEO of NewsCred, a technology platform that connects publishers and brands with the world’s best journalism. As CEO, Shafqat manages the strategic growth of the company and is responsible for expanding NewCred’s platform-services business. With extensive experience in the financial services industry, previously as a Vice President at Merrill Lynch, Shafqat also oversees global sales and manages the strategic growth of NewsCred.

  He has spoken at events including Digital Hollywood 2012, the Digital Content Monetization Summit, AAN Media Conference, Internet Week 2012, Paley Media Center 2012 Summit, 2011 and 2012 Business Insider Conferences and Wharton Entrepreneurship panels. He graduated with a dual degree in Computer Engineering and Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
